The role of the assistance officer with us

The position is as a district officer and means that you are responsible for a geographic area. In this role, you will handle cases according to the Social Services Act, such as services like home care, day activities, respite care, security alarms, and special housing for people living in the area.

Your main responsibility is authority exercise by investigating, assessing needs, and making decisions according to the Social Services Act. You are also responsible for follow-up and quality assurance of decisions.

Your profile

You are skilled at communicating with others (internally/externally), both verbally and in writing. You are a good organizer, orderly, flexible, responsible, decisive, and unpretentious. It is also important that you can work independently, prioritize, and structure tasks. You are loyal and act in accordance with made decisions, goals, policies, and guidelines, and have a problem-solving and analytical ability. You must be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, as this is required in daily work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a degree in social work/a degree from the university's social care program, and/or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
  • good knowledge in the area of authority exercise and relevant legislation
  • relevant experience from work within a politically governed organization
  • a B driver's license

It is meritorious if you have:

  • good knowledge of IBIC
  • experience in roles as an assistance officer/social worker
  • experience with the operational system Combine

About us in the assistance unit

The Department of Care & Welfare is organized into districts. The assistance unit belongs to the management office (FLK).

The assistance unit currently includes 22 assistance officers, three senior assistance officers, three fee officers, two support and care consultants, two housing adaptation grant officers, and a unit manager.

We work based on the Social Services Act (SoL). We have IBIC (Individual Needs in Center) as a working model and with it a quality assurance effort where we focus on working with common goals and methods. The municipality is taking great strides in development both in methods of handling as well as in digital development.

We offer a permanent full-time position with immediate placement according to agreement.
